The Ikariana exhibition presents a closed set of interconnected, thematically connected of the last paintings of Irena Křivánková, concerning the extreme moments of human life, conceived as a dramatic, continuous journey that has its beginning, climax and conclusion, during which the depicted female body goes through breaking experiences of losing itself, the inner self mirroring, detachment from earthly life and rebirth and reconciliation. It is a personal statement in which the author identifies herself with the painted character, lending her her own features, and thus becomes the main participant in his paintings. Their heroine underwent experiences disembodiment, taking place on the border between light and dark as the age-old internal struggle of the desire for purification.
