graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, studio of Jiří Sopko. In 2001 he completed a study internship at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst Enschede in the Netherlands. He is a member of the generation that can already be considered to have helped shape the emerging generation of 21st century painters. Among the exhibitions in which Filip Černý has participated and which have helped to codify generational themes, we can include, for example. “Schrodinger’s Heel” exhibition at the Václav Špála Gallery. The wide range of his themes ranges from the inspiration of psychedelic patterns through sarcasm, visual irony to the genesis of a cinematically tuned concept of a story that does not lack a philosophical subtext. He has exhibited at the National Gallery, DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, Mánes and many other Czech and international galleries.
